Wee Walk in the Hills above Dunoon.

08 April, lovely sunny day but still a wee bit nippy. Ti=his was my first walk for awhile and it was good to get out and about even though it was locally and i have tramped across these paths and tracks for years.

What was apparent was the amount of mountain bikers in the area but not a problem all entitled to enjoy the outdoors.

I started the walk at NS16726 76880 which was a change for me I normally start the walks at Bishops Glen.

I decided to head in the direction and connect with the track that led to the open hill and onwards to Bishops Seat the highest point in the hills above Dunoon. But on reaching the track junction I decided to have some lunch and give the climb up a miss and start to head back down.

The photo above is looking back down to the reservoir at Bishops Glen and the Clyde.

The photo right, that wee footbridge brings back memories. A couple of years ago on a cold snowy morning I was coming back down the hill. On reaching this spot I slipped on some sheet ice that was covered in snow and down I went. I remember just laying there and checking myself over. Thankfully nothing serious, but just goes to show anything can happen.
