Wee Walk Pucks Glen

Sitting in the house getting bored so I decided to jump in the car and head out to Pucks Glen and go for a walk but this time using a different route that I know. On arriving at the car park it was packed no spaces , however after a wee wait I managed to get one.

After watching one person who was with a group going back and forward to the notice board with all the relevant info and the paths in the area then checking is map and looking rather baffled. Mebbe should have told him that 1:50,000 scale maps do not show all the paths.

Anyway off I headed, and was soon heading up the gorge with a large group of people about 100 metres behind me. On reaching the top I headed along the track that would take you to the Black Gates. But today I was watching out for this small path that will take me back down to the road and the car park,

Soon I was heading down this steep path that zig zags it's way down, quite slippy in places with the wet leave litter. Then I came to the part where the branches of the trees have formed a tunnel and the light is reduced. There is a couple of benches on the way down but looking at them it's been a long time since anyone sat on them. This is probably due to the other path which is further on which seems to be the main one used.

Once back on the road, it was not long before I was back at the car. Will do this walk again but this time I will take my Go Pro.
